Long loose waves

How to create

  1. Towel dry hair to remove excess moisture then use a hairdryer until 50% dry.  Make sure you point the hair dryer downwards, in the same direction as the hair, to keep the cuticles closed (this avoids frizz).

  2. Apply a thermal protection serum spreading evenly though hair lengths.

  3. Using a paddle brush, separate your hair in sections, blow-drying your hair straight until it is 100% dry and as smooth as possible.

  4. Divide your hair into small sections.  Then using your Marcos straightener place the straightening irons vertically to your head, as close to the root of your hair as possible, taking care to avoid contact with any skin areas. Rotate the iron 180 degrees and pull in a downward smooth movement. The faster the movement, the looser the wave.  A slower movement will achieve a tighter curl.

  5. Apply a shine serum to your finger tips and smooth through evenly for a luscious finish.

  6. Use your fingers to separate and loosen the waves to achieve your desired effect. Finish the style by rubbing a small amount of wax or defining paste between your fingertips. Apply the wax or defining paste from the mid-lengths to the ends of the hair, piecing and defining layers for a more textured look.  Give the hair a quick mist of hairspray for longer lasting results.

Tip:

If your wave does not form well on your first attempt, don't try to re-do it immediately. Start on a new section of hair letting the original section of hair cool first - then try again.
